In this way, the pressing force on both sides of the driven plate disappears, the friction force also disappears, the torque of the engine no longer enters the transmission, and the clutch is in a disengaged state.

When the pedal is released, the pedal returns to its original position and the release bearing housing is pulled to the right by the return spring. At this point, the pressure spring pushes the pressure plate to press the driven plate against the flywheel, and the torque of the engine is transmitted to the transmission.
