Dongfeng Peugeot headquarters will be relocated from Beijing to Wuhan and PSA "associates"

The on-line auto market learned from Shenlong that Dongfeng Peugeot’s headquarters will be moved from Beijing to Wuhan, and the existing functional departments will also “transfer” to Wuhan and join the “PSA Division” of PSA Asia Pacific headquarters.

Dongfeng Peugeot is the brand of Shenlong Motors. In October 2002, Dongfeng Motor Corporation and France PSA Group (PSA Peugeot Citroën Group) signed a joint venture contract to expand cooperation and fully launched the work of introducing the Peugeot brand into China. Dongfeng Peugeot was born. On July 8, 2016, PSA Asia Pacific headquarters moved to Wuhan. This year, Dongfeng Peugeot has also moved its headquarters to Wuhan. Dongfeng Peugeot's sales, marketing, and other functional departments will also “transfer” to Wuhan, which is clearly closer to PSA’s Asia Pacific headquarters and factories.

In the past two years, French brands have been precooled in the Chinese market as a whole. The Peugeot brand has faced great market challenges. Dongfeng Peugeot has defined this year as the SUV year and launched the 5008, the new 408 and other models, but there has been no apparent recovery in sales. According to statistics, the sales volume of Dongfeng Citroen (Dongfeng Citroen, Dongfeng Peugeot) from January to August totaled 195,200, which is a sharp drop of nearly 60% from the 521,800 of last year's data. Among them, in August, sales of Dongfeng Peugeot in China were 17,200, a year-on-year decrease of 19.5%, which has dropped for 8 consecutive months.

Prior to this, Dongfeng Peugeot's business plan for "upgrading to blue" set the "brand sales volume to enter the top 10 in the industry" and sales will reach 70-100 million units in 2020. After Dongfeng Peugeot has moved to Wuhan, it will maximize its work efficiency and promote multi-party cooperation and exchange, which will help to achieve the goal of completing millions of sales.
