Opel launches pure electric vehicle in 2016

GM’s Opel plans to launch the first pure electric vehicle in 2016 or 2017 to meet EU emissions standards.
Recently reported that Opel's first pure electric vehicle project within the company's internal name is BEV (battery electric vehicle), the new car will be listed at the latest in 2017, the price will be lower than the Ampera plug-in hybrid vehicle, the latter is Chevrolet WoLonda’s derivative models cost 38,300 euros in Germany.
Peter Christian Kuespert, head of Opel's sales operations, said that Opel must develop a new powertrain in the face of the EU's increasingly stringent CO2 emission standards.
In addition to the above-mentioned pure electric models, Opel also plans to launch a small car with a price of less than 10,000 Euros in 2015 to compete with the Volkswagen Up! Small car. The company also plans to release the next-generation Corsa in 2015, which is Opel's best-selling model in Europe.
