It is reported that a new crane designed by Royal Dutch IHC will be equipped with Wärtsilä's Aquarius UV ballast water management system. The first ship of the design is currently being built at a Chinese shipyard, and the shipowner is the Belgian offshore and marine contractor Scaldis Salvage. Wärtsilä's contract was signed in the third quarter of 2015 and will provide engineering support for system design and end-use for proper operation within the scope of the regulations. This is the first time that the Wärtsilä ballast water management system has been installed on the ship designed by Royal IHC, and it is also the first time used in the offshore work boat market. It is understood that Wärtsilä also obtained a contract to supply the main engine and generator set for the ship.
