From January to July, Jiaxing Fastener Exports reached US$580 million, an increase of 40.2% year-on-year

According to statistics from Jiaxing Customs, from January to July 2011, Jiaxing City achieved a total foreign trade value of US$16.17 billion, up 25.9% over the same period of last year, which was 3.2 percentage points higher than the average growth rate of the province. Exports exceeded 10 billion U.S. dollars, reaching 10.93 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 22.3%, which was 1.2% higher than the average growth rate of the province; of which, Jiaxing fastener exports were 580 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 40.2%.

I. Main features of foreign trade import and export of Jiaxing City from January to July (A) The monthly import and export value and export value hit a record high. In July, Jiaxing City achieved an import and export value of 2.75 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 22.8% year-on-year, and an increase of 9.5% from the previous period; exports of 1.98 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 20.5% year-on-year, and an increase of 13.1% from the previous month; imports of 770 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 28.9%. An increase of 1.4%; monthly import and export value and export value hit a record high. In terms of growth rate, the growth rate of import and export of foreign trade in Jiaxing City in July reversed the declining trend for three consecutive months. Imports and exports increased by 22.8% year-on-year, 3.8 percentage points higher than that in June.

(2) Electromechanical products are the largest category of exports, with exports such as clothing, textiles, and fasteners growing faster, and furniture exports falling. From January to July, Jiaxing exported 3.63 billion US dollars of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 25.9%, accounting for 30.8% of the city's total exports over the same period. In the same period, Jiaxing City exported US$2.3 billion, US$1.91 billion, and US$5.8 billion in apparel, textiles, and fasteners, respectively, up 18.8%, 24.9%, and 40.2%; exports of high-tech products US$650 million, up 12.1%; export furniture 750 million U.S. dollars, down 8.2%.

(3) Electromechanical products are the first-largest category of imported goods, and imports of terephthalic acid, ethylene glycol and other chemical raw materials and papermaking machinery and other production equipment have doubled. From January to July, Jiaxing City imported 1.35 billion US dollars of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 44.2%, accounting for 25.7% of the city's total imports during the same period. In the same period, Jiaxing City imported terephthalic acid, ethylene glycol and styrene respectively with 260 million U.S. dollars, 200 million U.S. dollars, and 110 million U.S. dollars, which were increased by 2.5 times, 1 time, and 17.8 times; respectively, papermaking machines, transformers, rectifiers, and inductors were imported. $80 million and $0.6 billion, respectively, increased by 6.8 times and 1 times.

(4) General trade is the main mode of import and export. From January to July, Jiaxing City imported and exported 11.72 billion U.S. dollars in general trade, which represented an increase of 28.9%, accounting for 72.5% of the city's total value of imports and exports in the same period; importing and exporting US$4.2 billion in processing trade, which increased by 17.1% or 26%.

(5) It mainly focuses on the import and export of private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises. From January to July, foreign-invested enterprises in Jiaxing exported 8.43 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 18.1%; private enterprises imported and exported 6.75 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 40.2%, which together accounted for 93.9% of the city's total imports and exports in the same period. In the same period, state-owned enterprises in Jiaxing City imported and exported 660 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 14%; collective enterprises imported and exported 300 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 4.4%; and individual industrial and commercial household enterprises imported and exported 0.4 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 12.5%.
