When the German economy minister visited Beijing on Wednesday, he said that he has obtained the Chinese guarantee that German auto companies will not be discriminated against in the electric vehicle market and will not force the use of Chinese supplier products.

German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel and National Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei talked about China's quota for electric vehicles and expressed concern about German car companies.

On Tuesday, German media "Süddeutsche Zeitung" quoted the government draft as saying that the draft requires that automobile manufacturers in China must produce a certain number of zero-emission or low-emission vehicles from 2018, otherwise they will need to purchase zero-emission points from other manufacturers. The newspaper said that if the car companies do not meet the quota requirements, they will be forced to reduce production in China.

Miao Wei expressed disagreement with this idea and ensured that German car companies will receive the same treatment as Chinese companies in China.
