The subsidies for hybrid buses are expected to continue and relevant policies are expected to be introduced before the end of the year. The Shanghai Daily reporter learned from the industry associations that the current round of hybrid new subsidy policies will be lower than in 2009, from the original maximum of 420,000 yuan to about 10 million.
According to a reporter from the relevant branch of the China Road Association Bus Association, although the subsidies for ordinary hybrid buses will continue, they will adopt a gradual exit mechanism in the future. In spite of this, brokerage firms believe that for automakers such as Yutong and Jinlong, which have matured hybrid technologies and markets, they are still good.
In fact, in the next phase of the promotion policy for new energy vehicles introduced in September this year, there is no sign of hybrid buses. However, the relevant person in charge of the relevant public transportation department of the relevant city revealed to reporters: “In the future, it will still be published. Mixed bus policies, but subsidies may also become tax deductions."
It is understood that as of now, more than 70% of China's new energy commercial vehicles are passenger car products, and new energy buses are the focus of domestic auto companies' R&D, production and competition in new energy fields. Hybrid buses account for more than 90% of China's new energy bus market and are undisputed dominant vehicles. It can be said that in the limited domestic passenger car market capacity, the hybrid bus has a good market foundation and the market share of traditional passenger cars is decreasing. In 2013, a total of 9,000 new energy passenger cars were sold in the country, of which only 1,000 were pure electric passenger cars, and most of the rest were ordinary hybrid buses.
Based on this, leading manufacturers of traditional buses such as Yutong and Jinlong have joined the R&D team of hybrid buses and have continued to gain market share. Companies such as FAW, Dongfeng and SAIC, which are ranked lower in traditional passenger cars, are also actively seizing market opportunities. Strive to take the initiative in the R&D of hybrid buses.
From January to September 2013, Yutong Bus sold 2414 new energy buses. Since 2010, the company has cumulatively sold 5,142 energy-saving and new energy vehicles in 54 cities and 79 customers, and has become the leading vehicle manufacturer of hybrid buses in urban public transportation systems. “In the last two months of this year, Yutong Bus is expected to deliver approximately 1,000 new energy buses, including 100 pure electric buses and 650 plug-in hybrid buses to public transport companies in Henan Province,†the company’s sales staff said.
An automotive industry analyst told reporters that Yutong Bus's gross profit margin in the third quarter was 18%, a slight decrease from the previous quarter and the same period last year. With the delivery of new energy passenger cars and Venezuelan export orders in the fourth quarter, its gross profit margin is expected to increase.
A person in charge of the Jinlong Bus told reporters that the subsidies for hybrid buses should continue, and promotion can only be said to have just begun, and it has not yet reached the point where the departure subsidies can be marketized.
At the same time, car manufacturers have suggested that subsidy for hybrid buses can be subsidized by state subsidies for car companies, which will help break local protectionism.
